The East Colfax Neighborhood Association (ECNA) is a volunteer-led group of neighbors working to support a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community along the East Colfax corridor in Denver.
We are renters and homeowners, longtime residents and newcomers, parents, small business owners, artists, and advocates. Together, we aim to:
Build community through regular meetings, events, and outreach
Share helpful resources and information with our neighbors
Represent our neighborhood in conversations with the city and beyond
Whether you’re here to get involved, stay informed, or simply learn more about your neighborhood, we’re glad you’re here.
We host monthly community meetings that connect residents across backgrounds and blocks—creating space for voices to be heard, questions to be asked, and ideas to take root.
We share local resources and timely updates to help neighbors stay informed, supported, and ready to take action when it matters most.
We support neighborhood events that bring people together—whether it’s a cleanup, a block party, or a forum on housing—because connection is the foundation of community.
And we advocate for East Colfax with city leaders and agencies, making sure our neighborhood is not only seen, but heard.

CO House of Representatives District 6 Town Hall: Candidates Iris Halpern and Sean Camacho
A Colorado Springs native, Rep. Sean Camacho grew up in a working-class, military family. At 18, he earned admission to the Air Force Academy, deployed four times, and used the GI Bill to go to law school. Now, he is raising his two young boys with his wife, Jess, in Denver while practicing law and continuing to serve as an Air Force Reservist. Outside of his legal work, he has advocated for important Democratic issues, helped lead non-profits, assisted veterans and individuals in protecting their rights, and helped at-risk youth develop plans for a successful future.
In the legislature, he has fought for educators, mental healthcare, gun reform, affordability, and more—producing big policy wins, such as a $2500 raise for DPS teachers and staff.

THE EAST COLFAX NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
DPD District 2’s Neighborhood Watch program offers a partnership between officers and the community members they serve. Officers promote neighborhood connectivity by encouraging neighbors to get to know one another, reporting suspicious behavior to the police, and by creating awareness through Implicit Bias education - reminding neighbors - it's the person's behavior, not the person, to be mindful of when observing and reporting suspicious behavior to the Police.

This month, East Colfax neighborhood's state senator Matt Ball (SD-31) will join us to speak about his efforts and accomplishments during the 2026 legislative session and look ahead to 2027. He was one of the busiest members of the state legislature this year, introducing 16 bills in the senate and sponsoring 28 more that originated in the house, of which 37 passed in both chambers. Senator Ball was appointed by vacancy committee in early 2024 and is running in a special election this year to serve the remaining two years of the district's current term. We'll have time for questions from attendees but request that you send them to ECNA ahead of our meeting to help us manage the time we have with Senator Ball.

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless: Homelessness 101

John Glenn is running for the RTD Board of Directors for District B because he believes public transit should be reliable, safe, and easy to use. As a regular transit commuter for more than 30 years, John has experienced RTD firsthand—from riding the metro bus to high school in the early 1990s to commuting on the A Line today.
John is also an architect, bringing a professional understanding of how transportation, housing, and development shape communities. He believes strong transit systems help create more connected neighborhoods, support economic growth, and improve quality of life across the region.
That lived experience has shaped his priorities: improving service reliability, rebuilding public confidence in RTD, and making sure transit remains a strong long-term investment for the Denver region. John believes RTD works best when housing, jobs, and economic growth are connected to high-quality transit service.
His campaign is focused on practical solutions and rider-centered leadership that understands both the transit system and the people who rely on it every day.
