become a leader. help shape east colfax.
East Colfax is powered by neighbors who care — the kind who show up, lend a hand, and believe in what this community can be when we work together.
Our Board is made up of volunteers who serve not just in meetings, but out in the neighborhood — hosting events, organizing cleanups, advocating for improvements, and keeping the spirit of East Colfax alive. If you’ve got a heart for service and a commitment to action, we’d love for you to join us.
We’re looking for community-minded individuals who are ready to lead with purpose, pitch in, and make a difference.
Nominations are open! Voting takes place at our December 16th East Colfax Connect meeting. Scroll down for all the details and to submit your nomination.
BOARD ROLES & TERMS
ECNA’s Board includes: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and six At-Large Members.
Roles are elected for one-year terms beginning January 1, 2026.
Officers may serve consecutive terms — except the President, who may only serve two in a row.
All positions are volunteer-based. Normal out-of-pocket expenses related to board work will be reimbursed.
Board Members must attend monthly Board Meetings (1st Tuesday of each month), attend monthly Community Meetings (3rd Tuesday of each month), and make at least 9 out of 12 meetings in each category per year.
All positions, especially the At-Large Board seats, are open to all under-represented or under-served neighborhood members such as but not limited to residents of Ethiopian, Burmese, Latinx, Black Americans, Garden Court Apartments, Novy at Lowry Apartments, Rose on the Fax, Valor on the Fax, Hope Communities / Hidden Brook Apartments, and Grace Apartments residents.
At this time, three At-Large Member seats are open and in need of passionate, committed neighbors.
Nominations are welcome for any board position. If you’re interested in a specific role — including those currently held — you may submit your nomination and share your vision for how you’d like to serve.
Less talk, more teamwork.
That’s how we move East Colfax forward.
We need people who are ready to:
Support our neighbors with action, not just ideas.
Roll up their sleeves — literally — for things like block parties, cleanups, and outreach.
Lead with kindness, humility, and follow-through.
Avoid conflicts of interest and prioritize the good of the whole community.
